The Patient Safety Consultant leads the effort to advance patient safety culture and improvement. Through continuous collaboration with staff throughout the organization, the Patient Safety Consultant guides processes to assure successful implementation of harm prevention practices. This includes management and utilization of detection systems to identify safety risks, causes analysis investigation, and support for operational process that advance safety culture and improvement. This position provides leadership and support for the advancement of high reliability practices.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field from an accredited college/university required.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience in leading improvement in clinical care processes preferred.
Certification in patient safety improvement considered favorably.
3-5 years-experience in patient safety improvement preferred.
Proficiency in the use of standard business software required, advanced skills in spreadsheets, database and data presentation software preferred.
Proficiency in navigating information in electronic health records preferred.
Proficiency in error analysis and event investigation required.
Proficiency in oral and written communication required.
